T Minus One Week

by SandMan on March 24, 2011

It’s finally here.  IT’S FINALLY HERE!  It. Is. Finally. Here.

We’re going to start building the sandcastle next week.  Our incredible, hardworking, dedicated steering committee has been meeting weekly since last July to get to this point.  And, it’s finally here.

The plan is to break ground at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 (we’ve joked about what a great April Fools joke this would be, but it’s for real – we’re not kidding).  From that time forward, there will be nowhere to go but up.  35 feet up.  High enough to break the Guinness World Record for the tallest sandcastle.  It’s a record Ed Jarrett already holds.  But, he’s never satisfied and there are charities that need money, so he’s going to build another sandcastle.  It’s not a one-man job – there’s no way he can do it alone.

For those who want to help, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved – as individuals, as teams, as charities, as sponsors.  It’s not too late and we’d love to have you.

Haul a few buckets of sand for us and cross “Help Break a Guinness World Record” off your bucket list.  Pay it forward by raising some money for charity.  Embrace the opportunity to do something completely different and celebrate the arrival of spring.

There are so many reasons to do this.  We hope there’s one that draws you to us.  Can’t wait to meet you!
