Soon to be Blanketed in Snow?

by SandMan on March 30, 2011

With Friday’s weather forecast calling for everything from a wintry mix to 6-12 inches of snow (depending upon what model you trust), three things are true:

  1. It is Spring,
  2. Mother Nature is hilarious, and
  3. Ed Jarrett isn’t stopping – the site preparation continues and, on Friday, April 1, he will begin building a sandcastle to reach a Guinness World Record-breaking height of 35 feet tall.

Today, the surveyors came to officially mark the bottom of the sandcastle.  They will return during and upon completion of the building process to verify the sandcastle’s height.

Snow over here. Sandcastle over there.

Ed talks with licensed surveyor Todd Hesketh of F.A. Hesketh & Associates, Inc. from East Granby.

Ed explains what needs to be measured for submission of the castle's stats to Guinness.

Ed shows Todd Hesketh photos of the 2007 castle.

Ed draws the circle marking where the base of the castle will stand.

Rich Wright of Rich Wright Productions documents the surveying process.
