Volunteers Needed for “Boardwalk Journey” Sand Museum to Open on June 26

World renowned sculptor Ed Jarrett, who most recently broke the Guinness World Record for the Tallest Sandcastle in Point Pleasant Beach last October, has begun construction on his latest project, “Boardwalk Journey,” a sand museum that will feature over 5,000 square feet of detailed sand sculptures.

Sand Museum

Located on the corner of North Ocean Avenue and N Street in Seaside Park, the exhibit will take visitors back in time to the beginning of the Jersey Shore boardwalks and deliver them to the doorstep of the future. The project will raise money for Hometown Heroes. To meet his anticipated opening of the sand museum on June 26, 2014, Jarrett is badly in need of volunteers.

“We need to move a million pounds of sand,” says Jarrett. “It’s the very same sand we used to build Sandy Castle on Jenkinson’s Beach last year. We had it trucked here to Seaside Park and we need all the help we can get to move it, a few pounds at a time, into the forms so I can begin sculpting.”

Hours are daily, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., and those interested in helping can contact Ed Jarrett at tallestsandcastle@gmail.com.

In addition to volunteers, Boardwalk Journey also needs funding. Sponsorship opportunities at both individual and corporate levels are available. For more information, visit www.TallestSandcastle.com.
